Conditions of Contest

​Entry

  • Entry is open to all skaters who are members of a club affiliated to their country and that the country is affiliated to the International Skating Union.

​

  • Entry will only be accepted with a fully completed entry form.

​

​

       (If this is not acceptable please contact the club at the email above)

​​

  • * Note - Closing presentation is included in fees for skaters. Competition volunteers will receive a complementary entry. Additional guests will be charged at £15.00

 

​

Registration & Start Times

  • Friday 31st October 2025 & Saturday 1st November 2025.

​

  • Registration opens Thursday 30th October @ 1600 onwards. 

​

  • Registration is at 0800am on both days.

​​

  • Warm Ups start 0900 on both days.

​

  • Changing rooms will be allocated by country and maybe mixed.

Competition Rules

  • The competition will be run in accordance with the ISU Racing rules and adhere to the IMSSC Constitution and rules relating specifically to Masters Short Track.

​​​

​

Racing and Age Categories

  • Your age category will be determined by age and sex of skater and follow ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2024, Rule 108.

​

  • Race categories will be as the IMSSC constitution, e.g. Men & Women, 30-34, 35-39 and onwards. 

​

  • For individual races you will be entered in the category that is determined by the by this ruling and the organisers. The relay event will be separate event and will not be restricted by age.  

​

  • Categories may be mixed by the organiser to give balanced individual racing. 

​​

​

Maximum Time Limits

  • There will be no maximum time limits however all entries will be judged on the skaters ability to ensure safe racing for all.

 

​

Racing Distances

  • The individual competition will consist of 3 individual distances and a 4th distance as a Super- Final.

​

  • The qualifying schedule on the first 3 distances will be on an all-finals system in all categories. This is used to guarantee a minimum number of races to all participants.

​

  • The relay event will be decided on the number of entries however individually if you skate in international relay, you are not eligible for the additional mixed relay.​​​​ â€‹â€‹ â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

Officials

  • The competition referee and starter will be ISU accredited. 

​​

​

Records and Awards

  • Awards will be given to the overall 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each age category and 1st, 2nd & 3rd in Each Relay.

​

  • All records set will be ratified as European age records.

 

​

Track Conditions

  • The track is an artificial indoor ice surface measuring 60m x 30m.

​

  • The standard track will measure 111.12m with a measured curve of 8m and straight length of 28.85m.

​

  • There will be a minimum of 5 tracks to preserve good ice condition. For all tracks there will be only one finish line.

 

​

Barrier Padding

  • The protective barrier padding used will be in accordance with ISU Communication 2626

​

  • However the ISU communication does not cover Masters so within the specification of the ruling crash zones 1 & 2 and additionally secondary crash zone will only be covered.

 

​

Skaters Equipment

​

  • Checks will be made on skaters equipment and any skater not complying with the guidelines will be excluded from competition.

 

​

Electronic Timing and Photo Finish

  • A calibrated electronic timing system will be used to record times to 100th of a second so that official records can be established.

 

​

Medical Assistance

  • Medical paramedics will be present at all times during the running of the competition and an adequate response time for ambulance to be on site if required.

 

​

Medical Insurance

  • It is the sole responsibility of the individual skater to ensure they have adequate medical cover for the duration of the competition. 

 

​

Liability

  • In accordance with ISU ruling 119, the organisers will accept no liability or assumes no responsibility with respect to medical, bodily or personal injury or property loss or damage sustained in connection with this competition.

​​​

​

Accommodation

  • Accommodation is not included with the entry. Information on hotels is on the website.

​

  • If you are having difficulty with accommodation the organisers will be happy to help wherever possible.

​

​

  • Thursday 30th October 2025,  19:30pm

​Evening Presentation​

  • A Presentation evening will be held on Saturday November 1st 2025, at 19:30.

​

  • Fee for skaters is included in the competition registration fee.

​

  • There will be a charge of £15.00 for each additional skater guest payable via Paypal.​

​

  • WIFI will be available at Ice Sheffield.​​

​

Final Condition

  • By entering the competition, you agree to compete in a fair manner and be respectful to official and all other skaters.

  • You also enter to have fun and compete in the ethos of Masters Short Track. Lets race!​​​​
